Dear Fellow Residents of Augusta Township,

The outcome of Tuesday’s recall election does affect you. If you stay home
and the “yes” votes prevail, we will lose the highly qualified, dedicated
services of Clerk Kathy Giszczak, and with no one to take over, qualified
or otherwise. Without Kathy’s expert fulfillment of her duties, Augusta
Township could go into State receivership.

Elected twice by our citizens and victorious over a previous recall attempt
by the same people by a 3-to-1 margin , Clerk Giszczak has earned your
continued support for good reason. Since taking office in 2004, Kathy has
tirelessly worked to unravel and organize the chaotic records she inherited.
She saves us tens of thousands of dollars each year by, among other things,
doing our bookkeeping (previously an annual $50K out-sourced expenditure).
Kathy typically works 60 hours per week for her $25K salary.

Contrary to every allegation by the disgruntled few (the infamous Jim McDonald
and former Board members Jackson, Dew and Bielec), Clerk Giszczak is highly
ethical and honest. She is professional and treats everyone equally and
cordially. Such attributes aren’t recognizable by those who don’t share them.

It’s estimated by the very people who are heading this recall election that
it will cost the taxpayers $12,000, to be followed by another costly election.
Please don’t let this unwarranted expenditure be for naught. Please cast your
NO vote and let the township move forward with the integrity, intelligence
and skill of Clerk Giszczak still on Board.

Thank you! Sincerely, Trustee Bill (and Wendy) Tobler
