"The Only Team" has accused me (William Tobler)of altering the minutes on the Augusta Township website. This statement is deliberately untrue, slander, and points to the character of The Only Team. What's this about? At the regular Board meeting on September 23rd, 2008, the Agenda prepared by Supervisor Kathy Jackson included an item called "Website Questions". There was no information in the Board packet. Mike King was prepared with his laptop and video projector to present the "Website Questions" item. He showed that certain Board votes were underlined and shown in red. He then accused Trustee and Webmaster William Tobler and/or Clerk Giszczak of altering the minutes on the Township Website. The meeting was over at 11:30PM and I went home to begin my investigation. I found that the password had been changed by King to deny me (the Webmaster) access. Jackson claimed in the newspaper that the Webhosting company had been contacted to prevent my access for 24 hours. Both statements are untrue. Mike King and Phil Klump (King's employee) changed the password during the meeting (the host company doesn't do this) and they did not notify me of their action or intent (24 hours). When I regained access, I discovered that the Website Contact had been changed from my name to Mike King. I then investigated the allegations, and found them to be completely untrue and frivolous. The Website Minutes ARE exactly the same as the those signed by Supervisor Jackson in 2005. At the October 14 Board meeting during Board Reports, I made a presentation with handouts refuting every claim made by Mike King. The conclusions from the presentation are as follows:
These conclusions could have been easily reached by anyone even slightly aware of Microsoft Office and internet systems. Mike King is co-owner of Coexe, the company from which Augusta Township purchases IT services. In the last year, the charges to Augusta Township from Coexe have ballooned enormously and are currently averaging about $2000 per month. Almost all "work" has been authorized by Supervisor Jackson. Lately and without Board knowledge, Jackson has been authorizing the IT specialist at $105 per hour to update the Cable Channel. This used to be done for free by Trustee Joann Kidder. |
